May 23rd-Three Days of Motorcycling
David arrived last night from San Diego for the Memorial Day Weekend. What to do! Well we absolutely need one more motorcycle. Dan rented a Buell from a nearby Harley Davidson Dealer. He decided to ride it himself and let David ride his Suzuki Hyabusa (David has a Hyabusa in San Diego).
They picked up the rental on Saturday morning and by early afternoon, we were ready to ride. It was great. You see, ever since I watched American Chopper, I wanted to ride with my boys like Paul Teuttel. I rode my Suzuki C50 over to Dan's. The boys put on their Joe Rocket Jackets, Helmets, gloves and we were on our way. With Dan in the lead, a beautiful seventy degree sunny day in front of us, we toured the back roads of Lake County Illinois. There were many sights along the way including the famous Broken Oar Bar. As we passed the bar noticed hundreds of motorcycles in their lot. During our two hour ride, traffic was light, the road smooth, and scenery pristine. The Buell had a good engine and performed well for the entire weekend.
On Sunday, we rode out to Algonquin Illinois and took River Road along the Fox River. Boaters were everywhere. After about five miles we arrived in Fox River Grove. We took route 22 east to Old Barrington Road and traveled down Cuba Road. At route 14 we headed west to pine tree and down Roberts road past many of Barrington's famous horse farms. At Lake Cook Road we headed west and turned north on Old Sutton Road, motored through South Barrington and back to my house.A nice two hour ride.
