Motorcycling on a 79 degree day in November

Saturday and Sunday temperatures were in the 70's. I could not waste the opportunity to ride. I rode to Elk Grove on Saturday and through Schaumburg for a little over an hour. I saw many Harley's, Suzuki's and Honda motorcycles, both cruisers and sport bikes. It seemed like heaven. I consider this weather a gift. Soon snow will envelop Northern Illinois. This weather reminds me of San Diego. If only our warm spell could continue.

On Sunday, I rode out to Union Illinois and passed by the Illinois Railway Museum. I took Illinois route 62 to Huntley and headed south to Big Timber Road. From there I connected with Route 20 and rode to Union.
I explored many back roads around Union. I went for miles and never passed another vehicle. It was majestic! My Suzuki handled very well and gave me a smooth-trouble free ride.

As usual most riders are safe. However two motorcyclists on Big Timber crossed the double yellow at great speed to get around a tractor. They did this on a blind curve. This gives motorcycling a bad name! Many individuals in cars witnessed this stunt. This can be a great sport if done in a safe manner!
